The B!G Impact
We know creative skills are valuable and we wanted to prove it! We surveyed our 2021 students to see how The B!G Idea impacted them.
This year 500 students from 8 schools around Ireland participated in our free programme. Schools from across the education sector were represented from rural and urban schools to voluntary secondary, ETB and DEIS schools.
As we have over 10,000 students now on our waiting list for next year we wanted to get a feel for how students felt about this first incredible inaugural year. We can now communicate what they have experienced.
The results from our survey were phenomenal!!
100% of students felt that they had learned new skills through the programme. The skills developed are creative thinking, problem-solving, working as part of a team, communication and research.
Another incredible 100% of students answered yes when asked if they have a better understanding of creativity now than before The B!G Idea.
98.5% feel more confident about using creative thinking to address challenges and 90% are motivated to volunteer in the future. This is an incredible result showing that we are actively encouraging young people to connect with their communities with the skills they have learned.
We want to make the programme as engaging as possible with a range of activities and tasks designed for all learning abilities. We were really chuffed when 97% answered yes to the question whether they enjoyed The B!G Idea programme.
While these figures speak for themselves it makes it very clear to us that there is a massive opportunity in education for creativity and that The B!G Idea has nailed delivering it.
