“Throughout my career, I’ve focused on creating impactful campaigns that connect with people, whether through fashion, beauty, or retail.”

What industry do you work in and how would you describe what you do (your elevator pitch!)?
With over 11 years of marketing experience, I’ve worked across international brands in both Australia and Ireland. I spent seven years in Australia leading marketing for global fashion brands Lovisa and Decjuba before returning to Ireland to work with Pestle & Mortar. Now, as Brand Manager at Tirlán CountryLife, I focus on bringing creative, data-driven strategies to life.Passionate about community, creativity, and making an impact, I thrive on using insights to drive meaningful campaigns. I believe marketing is more than just selling a product—it’s about storytelling, problem-solving, and building connections. My experience spans everything from fashion to retail, with a strong focus on multi-channel strategies, employee engagement, and change management.

I’m excited to share my journey, insights, and practical advice to help young people explore the world of marketing and discover how creativity and strategy can shape their future careers.

What was your favourite subject in school and why?
My favourite subject in school was art. I loved the freedom to express ideas visually and create something from nothing. That passion led me to study design, but I soon realised I was most interested in the story behind the visuals and the connection a design creates rather than just how it looks. That’s what drew me to marketing, where I could blend creativity with strategy to build meaningful brand stories.

How did you get into your line of work? Can you talk us through a quick overview of your career path to date?
I started my career in design, but I quickly realised my passion lay in the bigger picture—how creativity, strategy, and storytelling come together in marketing. That led me to work in Australia for over seven years with international fashion brands Lovisa and Decjuba, where I gained hands-on experience in multi-channel marketing. When I returned to Ireland, I transitioned into the beauty and wellness industry with Pestle & Mortar before moving into my current role as Brand Manager at Tirlán CountryLife. Throughout my career, I’ve focused on creating impactful campaigns that connect with people, whether through fashion, beauty, or retail.

When do you use creative thinking and problem solving in your line of work?
Creative thinking and problem-solving are at the heart of my work every day. Whether it’s developing marketing campaigns that engage customers, finding new ways to drive foot traffic to stores, or adapting strategies based on data insights, I’m constantly thinking outside the box.A big part of my role is balancing creativity with commercial goals, making sure campaigns not only look great but also deliver real results. I also use problem-solving when challenges arise, like shifting strategies due to market trends or coming up with fresh ways to communicate a message effectively. It’s all about being adaptable, innovative, and always looking for new ways to connect with people.
