Not ones to rest on our laurels, we have pulled out all the stops to produce our first ever mobile Teacher App. We know that this programme is all very new for a lot of teachers and so we are doing all we can to support them and help them through the process. Rather than inundating teachers with emails and posts, the app allows them to chat to us in their own time about any aspect of the programme. They can also chat to their peers through the app, opening up all sorts of conversations and tip-sharing abilities. To simplify life even more, teachers can link the programme timelines to their calendar so they never miss a deadline and know what steps are coming next.
The purpose of the app is to encourage open conversations between teachers about the creative process. A problem shared is a problem halved and this way they will become more confident in delivering the programme. Overall, it will contribute to a culture of shared learning.
The B!G Idea team can benefit from the app aswell as we can provide more responsive, timely support throughout the programme. Teachers can ask questions on the forum and we can respond to their needs more accurately.
So it’s a win-win all round.
It’s still early days for the app but it has been channelled out to teachers with the principal aim to encourage and support teachers involved in the programme to spread the learning across their school community and to open the creative community of teachers from all the other subject disciplines.
We think it’s a great addition to The B!G Idea programme and will help to simplify the process for our teachers which can only be a good thing.
