On 10th January, 43 schools across Ireland officially began The B!G Idea programme. This year, more than 80 teachers and 2,000 students from 22 counties are starting their journey toward developing B!G Ideas that could change our world.
Over the next 16 weeks, students will explore creative thinking, collaboration, and real-world problem-solving. Then, in May, they will celebrate their achievements at our grand B!G Showcase finale.
Each Friday, teachers receive bespoke weekly lessons through the Teacher Dashboard. These lessons include:
Importantly, we keep everything simple and structured. Between pandemic recovery and freezing classrooms, teachers already have enough on their plates. Therefore, we design the programme to be practical, supportive, and easy to deliver.
Every week, students move step-by-step through the creative process as they respond to their chosen B!G Idea brief.
Along the way, they learn how to:
As a result, students transform an initial idea into a fully developed solution.
The B!G Idea programme is fully inclusive. Consequently, every student receives a Swag Bag filled with materials needed for class activities, including:
These hands-on tools support different learning styles and encourage teamwork, experimentation, and creativity. Moreover, the structured activities ensure that every student has equal access to learning opportunities.
Most importantly, The B!G Idea gives students a platform to share their opinions and propose real, viable solutions to global and local challenges.
We hope every student finds the experience motivating, empowering, and rewarding. Likewise, we hope teachers enjoy delivering the programme and watching their students grow in confidence and creativity.
2022, we’re ready for you.
