DRUMROLL PLEASE… 🥁
We are incredibly proud to share The B!G Idea Impact Report. This milestone marks everything we have achieved since launching in 2020 and highlights the real difference our programme is making in young people’s lives across Ireland.
Moreover, the report explores our journey, our growth, and — most importantly — our impact.
Have a look, the statistics facing young people in Ireland are stark:
These figures are real. That’s why The B!G Idea exists.
Through our programme, we equip students with creative thinking skills that build confidence, resilience, empathy, collaboration, and critical problem-solving abilities. That is why instead of feeling overwhelmed by challenges, students learn how to tackle them head-on.
We all know that the world is changing rapidly. While many of these changes are positive, they also bring new and increasingly complex challenges. As a result, young people must be equipped to navigate uncertainty with confidence. We believe they are the change-makers of tomorrow. However, they need the right tools today to step into that role.
That’s where creative thinking comes in.
Creativity and innovation can be taught at any age. In fact, these skills are now more essential than ever. Not only do they empower problem-solving, but they also build resilience and adaptability. Every young person has creative potential and, when nurtured properly, that potential grows into confidence, capability, and courage.
Ultimately, our mission is simple: to create a world where young people have the resilience, confidence, and creative skills to solve big challenges—and to shape a future they believe in.
“I learned that I’m not as shy as I used to be. I don’t really like to talk much or throw out my ideas or be involved with groups but I actually did pretty good on this project with my classmates. I’ve definitely learned to speak up more and not be afraid of people judging your opinion.”

Stories like Tori’s remind us that impact isn’t just about statistics. Rather, it’s about real transformation. While data matters, personal growth and confidence are the true indicators of lasting change.
In 2022, our impact continued to grow nationwide.
That year, we worked with students across 22 counties. In total, 49 schools participated in the programme. Of these, 17 were DEIS schools that supported young people in areas of socio-economic disadvantage.
Importantly, access remains central to our mission. We actively ensure that students from all backgrounds can engage in high-quality creative learning opportunities.
Looking ahead, our growth is accelerating. In 2023, we are doubling our reach, with 4,000 students set to benefit from The B!G Idea programme. Clearly, the momentum is building — and January marks the beginning of another exciting chapter.
