The B!G Idea team is not fond of sitting around. Last week, Kim, our main lady and Niamh, our programme manager took the first step into the exciting field of an EU project.
They headed to Denmark where they were hosted by Kaospilot who are leading the project, ( self-governing school for creative leadership and meaningful entrepreneurship) and joined by Politecnico di Milano, Italy (engineering, architecture and design technical university); Poljoprivredno šumarska škola Vinkovci, Croatia (agricultural and forestry school) and High School of Agrinio, Greece (public senior high school).
This EU project (called BANG! – Bridging All Next Generations) is part of the Erasmus+ Programme under the Cooperation partnerships in youth action type.
The purpose of the project is to increase the use of creative digital skills and equality by making creativity accessible to all and developing young people’s wellbeing. Clearly, we are a great match with much of this ground already covered.
The B!G Idea is a remote working team and after two years of working from home and not being able to travel, the prospect of flying to Denmark was an exciting one. All five project partners gathered to work together and to begin the creative learning framework for the project. There are more workshops in the pipeline in the coming months but the highlight of the project will be the international Summer Lab that will take place in 2023. Thirty young learners (from 16 to 18 years old) and 10 educators from all partner countries will attend the BANG! Summer Lab over 5 days to work in teams with their peers, applying their online learning while connecting with a range of stakeholders.
There is lots to work on and lots to think about over the coming year but it is so exciting to be working with like-minded people in other European countries and coming up with innovative and inspiring plans together. As we at The B!G Idea like to say, ‘Innovation Starts Here!’
