The packs are made up of pencil cases which are filled to the brim with pencil, pen, post-it notes and tape. Alongside the bright and cheerful pencil cases, students will get notebooks, creativity glasses and Lego, all fulfilling The B!G Idea’s principle of inclusivity. We’re all about making sure every student gets their hands on the gear they need to take part in The B!G Idea on an equal playing field and Think B!G packs allow that to happen!
Inside the packs, we’ve got some goodies for the teachers too, making it easy for them to run the class, no matter where they’re based. Teachers can expect A3 paper, the learning poster, a copy of this year’s briefs, and a little token of appreciation.
All the boxes have now been allocated to the appropriate schools with correct numbers and sizes and once ready to go were whisked away to be couriered out to 21 counties. There was a time when we packed and delivered these packs ourselves but the numbers have grown so much now that we’ve had to outsource this piece of work. It is still a significant achievement to get these out to all our students and it’s always lovely hearing the delight of teachers as they land in their classrooms.
Being a mentor isn’t just about helping students with their projects; it’s supporting them with these fantastic tools to help every single one of them access new and life changing skills. This is democratising creativity and that’s what The B!G Idea is all about. If you haven’t signed up yet but would like to be a Mentor on our 2024 programme, get in quick.
