The B!G Idea Final Showcase 2022 is almost here — and the excitement is building. Students, teachers and mentors across Ireland are preparing for a celebration packed with creativity, innovation and some seriously impressive prizes.
From category awards to Teacher of the Year and the Overall B!G Idea prize, this year’s showcase promises recognition for every student and school that has taken part in the programme.
Every student who has worked so hard throughout the programme will receive a customised certificate of participation. In addition, each participating school will be recognised as a B!G Idea Creative School, celebrating their commitment to creative thinking and innovation.
At The B!G Idea, we believe in celebrating effort as much as achievement. Therefore, this year’s prizes reflect the creativity, dedication and collaboration shown by students across Ireland.
On 20th May, from 11am to 1pm, we will host the much-anticipated Final Showcase event. This exciting online celebration will include guest speakers, live link-ins, student interviews and plenty of B!G energy.
Throughout the event, we will reveal the category winners, announce Teacher of the Year and celebrate the Overall B!G Idea winner. As always, the showcase will be full of anticipation, creativity and community spirit.
This year, five category winners will be selected across key social themes. Each category is proudly sponsored by an industry partner:
Each winning team will receive a bespoke B!G Idea medal and four €100 One4All vouchers per category. These prizes recognise the outstanding creativity and problem-solving demonstrated by students throughout the programme.
Teachers play a vital role in supporting creative learning. Therefore, the ESB Teacher of the Year award celebrates one exceptional educator who has gone above and beyond to inspire students.
The winning teacher will enjoy a one-night stay at Cliff at Lyons Boutique Hotel in Kildare, including dinner for two at The Mill restaurant.
Students themselves will help decide this award. Team leads will complete evaluation questions during project submission, helping identify this year’s outstanding teacher. While there can only be one winner, every participating teacher deserves recognition for their dedication and support.
Finally, the moment everyone has been waiting for — the announcement of the Overall B!G Idea Winner.
Judges will select one standout team whose project demonstrates exceptional creativity, innovation and impact. Supported by Creative Ireland, the overall winners will receive:
