We are so excited to work with you in 2024; we can't wait for you to learn new creative skills that will help you take on any challenge you might face. Through fun and active experiences created by some pretty amazing people, you will be working on the projects that matter to you. Don't worry, you're not alone on this, you will be working in teams supported by your brilliant teachers and tutors and the best of the best in industry.
What You'll Learn
Over 14 weeks you will learn some of the most important skills you’ll need to succeed in life. You will learn how to work in teams, think differently, understand and solve B!G problems and how to develop B!G Ideas.
Your Projects
You let us know what topics are stressing you out and we listened. You will choose one project brief from your top 5 concerns. Each project is aligned to a creative discipline like Tech Product, Spaces & Places, Digital Experience, a Product or Service.
The B!G Mentors
Hundreds of innovative and creative leaders are ready to help you develop your B!G Idea. Just before Easter break you will send your team's idea to a selection of our amazing Mentors. They will send your teachers some advice and feedback that will help you get to the next stage of your project.
Eyes on the Prize
There are lots of prizes to aim for in The B!G Idea. We think you're all winners learning all the creative skills you need for life but to sweeten the deal there are some incredible prizes up for grabs.
Category winners get a bespoke medal and there is one for every member of your team! The BIG Idea winning team gets the B!G trophy!
The winning team gets a massive €2000 to share! Spend it on developing your project or just go B!G. It's yours and you deserve it!
Your team and teacher will get the opportunity to travel to Dublin to work with the multi-award winning strategic Design company, Fjord to develop your B!G Idea.
The B!G Idea winning team and teacher will receive FREE tickets to WebSummit 2022, hosted in sunny Lisbon. This is an amazing opportunity to see creative innovation in action.
Every student who participates in The B!G Idea gets to apply for 50 extra points for IT Carlow under their Active Citizenship Scholarship. T&C’s apply.
