On 21 July we had the first of our Mentor series and what an incredible kick-off event it was!
It was fantastic to have so many old and new Mentors join us for what we hope will be the start of an incredible series for the community. We appreciate there were many Mentors that couldn’t attend and we can tell you that while your presence was certainly missed it just makes us that extra bit excited to see you all at the next one!
This Mentor series idea was sparked by you, the Mentors, saying that you would like more opportunities to connect with each other to share ideas and network. As always with any great idea, we are more than happy to facilitate! In past discussions some of you have said that it would be great if we could facilitate Mentors supporting other Mentors, particularly new Mentors, and we just love that idea! This will certainly be something we will be looking at going forward.
For those of you that missed it, the kick-off event started with a B!G welcome from our CEO, Kim, followed by an introduction to the programme by Niamh, our Head of Development and Sustainability. We had a jam packed schedule and it was fantastic to get so much input from you all!
In the breakout rooms, everyone had the chance to share their thoughts and ideas on how they would like the Mentor series to run and what we can all learn from these get-togethers. Some incredible ideas were shared including introducing some guest speakers from time to time and even the development of a Mentor Map…watch this space!
