“I love the idea of giving back and supporting teenagers in thinking differently, encouraging them to contribute to society and discover a new side of themselves.”

What does creativity mean to you?

Creativity for me is that playful space where you can have fun and think outside the box and create something, may it be an idea, a clever solution, a beautiful visual or sound. It can have any type of shape and form but is something that comes from within yourself.

What attracted you to B!G Mentoring and what are you most looking forward to?

I love the idea of giving back and supporting teenagers in thinking differently, encouraging them to contribute to society and discover a new side of themselves.

Why is creativity and innovation important in your line of work?

It’s great for problem solving and for developing creative outputs that help connect with people in a meaningful way.

What do you now know about creativity that you wish you would have known earlier in your career or when you were a student in secondary school?

I now understand creativity as something much bigger than I did when I was younger. It’s more about allowing yourself to be open minded, curious, sometimes silly even, playful, compassionate, kind, positive. It’s a form of energy that can spark excitement and drive you forward and is best shared with others! Not everyone has the same form of creativity, and some don’t feel the need to engage with it, so it’s a question of getting to know yourself better and find out what’s the creativity that resides within you.

Last but not least! The B!G ‘Whatif!’ If the power of creativity was unleashed in every person, young and old and in between, what do you think Ireland would look like?

The power of creativity comes with the belief that things are possible! If Ireland would turn into a country full of creative thinkers (and doers) it would become a place of inclusion, of hope and transformation.
